SAFETY VALVE 1/4'' 2,5 BAR CERTIFIED CE PED IV — rated safety valve, fitted by a technician

A spare part is bought against the part it replaces, not against the machine's name. The specifications are first on this page so you can hold them next to the component in your hand: the code, the thread, the dimensions and the rating. Anything the maker or the listing doesn't state is left off rather than guessed, and where fitting needs a technician, the page says so.

Does it match the part you're replacing?

Check it against the component you're taking out, not against the machine's model name.

Send us a photo of the old part, and the code stamped on it if there is one, and we'll confirm the match before you order. On spares that's quicker than reading model lists, because the same machine name covers several generations.

A rating is a requirement, not a feature

Where a part carries a pressure or temperature rating, it exists because the circuit it sits in is designed around that figure. This one is rated 2.5 bar. Fitting a part with a different rating changes the point at which your machine protects itself, so it has to match the specification for your boiler rather than merely be close to it. If you don't know the original figure, find it before you order — we can help you read it off the boiler plate or the old component.

Fitting it

Boiler pressure part - fitting should be done by a qualified technician. Do not exceed the rated pressure

Two habits save most of the callouts we see. Depressurise and disconnect before you start, because a boiler holds pressure and heat long after it's switched off. And fit seals by hand: a screwdriver used to lever a gasket into a group tears the silicone, and a torn seal leaks under pressure rather than on the bench where you'd notice it. Where the line above says a qualified technician, treat that as the instruction rather than a suggestion — pressure vessels and mains electrical parts are not a place to learn on your own machine.

  • Repair instead of replaceA perished gasket, a blocked steam tip or a failed thermostat ends a machine's service, not its life. The part costs a fraction of the machine.
  • Identified from a photoSend the old component and we'll match it. On spares that's faster and safer than working from a model name.
  • Stated, not assumedWhere a code, a rating or a material isn't published we leave the line out. On a part that holds pressure, a blank is safer than a guess.

Is this the right part for you?

Yes, if you

  • Have matched the code, the thread or the dimensions to the part you're removing
  • Are replacing a component that's worn, perished, blocked or failed
  • Know the rating your machine needs, where the part carries one
  • Can fit it yourself, or have a technician who will

Check with us first if

  • You're going by the machine's name alone; the same name covers several versions
  • The part holds pressure or carries mains electricity and you'd be fitting it yourself
  • You're guessing at a dimension — a gasket is sold in millimetre steps for a reason
  • A figure you need isn't listed above, which means nobody has published it

What people ask before buying a spare part

How do I know this fits my machine?
Match the part rather than the machine. Read the code stamped on the component you're replacing, or measure it, and compare that with the specifications on this page. Model names cover several generations and regional versions, so a compatibility list narrows the field without settling it. Send us a photo of the old part with your machine's model and year and we'll confirm before you order.
My gasket is 8.3 mm or 9 mm — how do I tell?
Take the old one out and measure its thickness, or check your machine's parts diagram. They look nearly identical in a photo and they are not interchangeable: too thin and the portafilter over-rotates and leaks, too thick and it won't lock in far enough. If you can measure it with calipers, do. If not, send us the machine model and we'll look up which thickness it takes.
Can I fit it myself?
It depends entirely on the part. A steam tip, a gasket, a diffuser or a crank are owner-serviceable with basic tools and care. A safety valve, a thermostat or a pressure fitting is not: those sit in a pressurised boiler or on mains electricity, and the installation line on this page says so where it applies. Read that line before you order, and if it names a technician, arrange one.
Why does the certification line sometimes say none stated?
Because we only publish what is actually claimed. Some parts here carry a formal certification — a safety valve may be CE and PED marked, a gasket may have a food-grade test report — and some are sold without any certification claim at all. Saying so is more useful than silence, particularly on a part that sits in a boiler or touches the water that reaches the cup.
Is this an original manufacturer part?
Read the brand and the part number lines. Some items here are branded components from the original maker, some are third-party parts sold to fit named machines, and where a part replaces an original code that code is listed. None of that is hidden: if a part is a compatible replacement rather than an OEM one, the specifications say what it replaces and the rest is for you to weigh.
The part number on mine doesn't appear anywhere on this page. Now what?
Send it to us. Part codes are how spares are actually identified, and we can usually trace a code to the current equivalent even when the listing doesn't name it. That's a better outcome than ordering something that looks similar.
What if it's the wrong part, or it arrives damaged?
If you change your mind, you can request a return within 3 calendar days of delivery, as long as the item is unused, in its original packaging and in resalable condition — so check the fit before you attempt to install it. If it arrives damaged or defective, tell us within 7 days and send photos or video of the issue. Returns need our approval first, so start with a message or email to info@scorestore.ae. Sale and clearance items can't be returned unless they're confirmed defective.

What each specification actually does

Model / OEM part numberSafety valve 1/4 inch, 2.5 bar
The part number is how spares are identified, and it's worth more than any description. A code matches one component with one set of dimensions; a name like "steam tip" matches dozens. Write yours down somewhere you'll find it, because the next time this part wears out the code turns a diagnosis into a two-minute order.
Compatible machines / brandsEspresso machine boilers with a 1/4 inch safety valve port
Read it as a shortlist, not a promise. Makers change components mid-production and sell different versions by region, so a model name on this list tells you the part is probably right and never that it's certainly right. Where the line itself says to confirm the exact model, that caution is deliberate. Match the old component and the list becomes a cross-check rather than the decision.
Thread / fitting size1/4 inch
Threads either match or they don't, and there's no adapting in between. A quarter-inch port takes a quarter-inch fitting; a wand threaded for one tip won't accept another. Where the thread isn't published, check the original before ordering rather than after — it's a thirty-second look at a part you have in your hand, and it's the difference between fitting it and posting it back.
Pressure rating (bar)2.5
This is the figure the part exists to enforce. A safety valve opens at its rated pressure to protect the boiler, so the rating has to be the one your machine was designed around. Higher and the protection comes too late; lower and the valve vents in normal service. It isn't a performance number to optimise — it's a specification to match, and the fitting belongs to a qualified technician.
CertificationCE and PED category IV certified
Certification is a claim, and this line reports whether one is made. On pressure parts a formal marking means the component was assessed against a standard, which is what an inspector or a service engineer will look for. On parts that touch water, a food-grade standard or a test report is the equivalent. Where nothing is claimed we say so rather than leaving the line out, because on a spare part the absence of a claim is itself worth knowing.
Installation & careBoiler pressure part - fitting should be done by a qualified technician. Do not exceed the rated pressure
Follow this line as written — most of it exists because the maker has seen it go wrong. Seals go in by hand rather than with a tool, threaded fittings want the correct tape or seal and no more torque than needed, and parts inside the group get cleaned with your regular backflush rather than left to build up. Where it names a qualified technician, that's a boundary, not a formality.
Pack quantity1
Worth reading twice on consumable seals. Gaskets, o-rings and screens are the parts you'll replace again, and having the spare already in the drawer is the difference between ten minutes of maintenance and a machine that's down until a delivery arrives. If you run more than one machine, buy accordingly.

Send a photo of the part you're replacing. One picture of the old component, plus any code stamped on it and your machine's model and year, is usually all we need. If it's a pressure or electrical part we'll tell you that too, rather than letting you find out with the machine open.
